And Then She Was Gone by Rosalind Noonan

AND THEN4 STARS

** spoiler alert ** I found this to be a pretty good story.

An 11 year old girl named Lauren is abducted and held captive for six years. During that time she is sexually assaulted and has a baby at 13. Just when you think the story is going to wind down when Lauren is finally found, you follow her and her family through Lauren’s recovery & getting the family together under the same roof again. Right near the end you get a new twist, while Lauren and everyone else thought that her daughter Mac is dead, they come to find out that she is alive and may of been illegally adopted. And with that the hunt is On again for another child.

While I loved this book , I gave it Only 4 stars because there is a point in the beginning where the author who is referring to Lauren uses the wrong name. There is also a story issue , when Lauren is first found she says that Kevin H. Threw her cell out of the van in the woods, but then later in the story it is said that Lauren threw the cell phone when they stopped for a bathroom break in the woods when Kevin wasn’t looking.

There were a few other errors, typos and name mix ups.

  1. Lawrence Hamilton says:

I still think this makes for a good story. The mechanicals of writing as you pointed out will turn off some. Still makes for a good story!

    • Thank you Trish for your comment. I am the same I love these types of books. There aren’t much mistakes besides the ones that I mention, so at least its not through the entire book 🙂

  2. Do they have the kindle version of this? It’s been a long time now since I’ve actually read a book for pleasure. This post just reminded me to get a new book, and I might buy this one too. 😉

  3. Sounds like an interesting story to read & with sexual abuse being a common topic these days I would like to see how the story unfolds at the end. Would love to grab a copy of the same.
