Makeup Fun: Eyeshadow

Today I am having some fun with makeup. I have chosen a  few of my favorites to share with you.

First I’m starting off with Smashbox

For special occasions or when I really want to go all out, this is my go to product line.   I love all of the products from them but for today I am sticking to eye shadow. These shadows come in a nice neat little container that has a diagram on the back of how to create a nice smokey eye with the colours.  The container is easy to open and the shadows don’t fall apart as you use them like some tend to.

MakeUp Photo by Crystal Gard @ Smashbox can be purchased either at Shoppers Drug Mart however only at select locations. Check out Shoppers Drug Mart Beauty Boutique. If you aren’t having any luck with that route you can also check out Sephora where you get 3 free samples with every order!.  Brace yourself though because Smashbox can be on the pricey side but so worth it.

Next I have a line that isn’t going to break the bank every time you need to replace it.  L.A COLORS

I actually found this on a whim at my local Dollar Tree it was super cheap to buy so I decided to take it home and try it. This line is made by Beauty 21 Cosmetics, Inc, and they pride themselves on making quality beauty products at an affordable price.  Retailers that carry this product can be found  at

This palette only cost be $1.25 CAD. I found that for the lighter colours it takes a few coats to really see it good but the darker ones were great. For the price this is what I expected. It is great for when I don’t want to use my more expensive makeup for some fun colour combinations.

Third I have Essence

This can be purchased at Essence Makeup or at some local retail stores I personally found mine at Shoppers Drug mart it was $6  which is a great price.

I fouMakeUp Photo by Crystal Gard @ http://www.gardhub.cand that the pigment for a cheaper makeup product was very good. The lighter colours may need an extra coat if you like a darker look but overall a very nice colour pallet with nice shimmer to it.

I  have not received any free product or discounts to write this. These are my own opinions on products I have paid full price for which I personally use.

I love the Essence colors. Will check Dollar Tree for the LA Colors one. A little bold for me but would be great stocking stuffers for my teen granddaughters.

I rarely use eyeshadow so I don’t invest much on the expensive brands! Good to know that there are palettes that work for you regardless of how affordable they are compared to the popular brands.
